Love in Paris – Day 1

Arc De Triophe

Arc De Triophe

It was in May this year. Our first Wedding Anniversary and how lucky we were that we were just few hours away from the City of Love. The city that needs no introduction, Paris! The city that is dedicated to art, culture, fashion and everything romantic. Amsterdam to Paris is a 5 hours drive. We reached Paris on May 2nd morning and headed straight to our hotel room. And would you believe? I could see Effiel Tower standing proudly in front of my eyes. We got a room with the view of the French Wonder. Now who wouldn’t want that on their anniversary!

There was so much to see in the city so we had a checklist in our mind. At the same time we didn’t want to rush in every direction, like a chicken with its head cut off and see nothing. We wanted to roam the streets and absorb the culture and essence of this lovely city. It was mostly dark and drizzling, but that’s what we call romantic in India right 😉 .

Our first stop was Museum Les Invalides which was an Army Museum. The exhibits included weaponry and armor from various time periods all engraved beautifully and with such minute details.

Then we walked through the famous Pont Alexandre III bridge. The bridge was really opulent and a masterpiece on its own. It was lavishly decorated with lampposts and sculptures of cherubs and nymphs. Loved crossing it, the view of the River Seine by the side, Effiel tower in the backdrop. Everything was just so pleasant about it.

Then we strolled though Champs-Elysees, the famous shopping street. You could see the greatest designer stores like Prada, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Tag Heur  etc. Of course I was in no mood to splurge on a €3,700.00 LV bag so we headed to our next spot, Arc De Triomphe.

Arc De Triophe reminded me of our very own India Gate. The walls were full of architecture, history and detailed carvings. Loved getting some clicks in front of this beautiful French monument.

We walked more, hand in hand through the neighborhoods of Paris. Parisians really are classy people. Trench coats, Leather boots, beret, they know how to look polish and imbibe finesse through every detail.

We found a Thai restaurant to have dinner and then headed straight for our ultimate destination. We saved the best for the last. The Majestic Effiel Tower. It was almost dark by the time we reached but the Tower stood mighty in front of us, adorned with its golden covering, and sparkling for 5 minutes every hour on the hour.  Paris = Effiel Tower, this assumption is absolutely true. You just can’t deny the beauty and glory of this giant sparking structure. The sight made us fall in love more with each other.

I was saving this Lace Bodycon dress for a perfect occasion . And what better occasion could I find other than my first wedding anniversary. Lace+ Red + Bodycon – it all summed it up as a perfect romantic date dress. I teamed it up with Gold wedges. I opted for wedges because they’re great for when you have to walk all day and look hot at the same time 😉 .

So, this was all about Day1 . Stay tuned for more . Thank you so much for reading. Have a great weekend everyone 🙂
