So after lamenting under the dark clouds and shivering from the cold, the happy times are back! Well I simply mean that I’m so glad that the winter is over. I can finally find my energy back with the bright sun, blue skies and blooming flowers. Yes! Blooming flowers! Daisies, Tulips, Buttercups are everywhere these days and Amsterdam has started to look so beautiful with it. And did I mention the Beautiful Cherry Blossoms yet?
Well Cherry Blossoms are the most ephemeral symbols of spring. They are these beautiful white and sometimes pink tress whose flowers bloom and then fall within a week. I really wished to see the Blossoms this year before they finally vanished. In Amsterdam forest we do have a Japanese Park where you can spend a day under 400 Cherry Blossom trees. These trees were donated by the Japan Women’s club in the year 2000. A special detail is that 200 trees have female Japanese names and 200 have female Dutch names. Prashant and I visited the Japanese park last week when everyone was celebrating the Cherry Blossom Festival (Cherry Blossoms viewing event ) with families and friends. We had a great day under the mesmerizing blooms and I got some beautiful pictures in front of these gorgeous flowers.
