Gonna talk about the most iconic shoes lately. Any guesses? Drumrolls…. the Saint Laurent Opyum Patent Pumps! The shoes were launched in February last year and the Fashion world was caught by a frenzy! Almost everyone from editors to bloggers wanted to lay their hands (or feet (oops, bad joke there)) on the classic shoes. The shoes are a piece of art and great engineering. They also seem to hit the spot right when the logomania trend is at its peak.
The shoe comes in two heights 110 and 85 and the heel logo comes in silver and chrome finish. I felt that the silver finish against the black leather stood out more. The shoes run a bit larger. I’m a size 37 but they are still loose to me. Shoe grips did the job for me and fit fine, however, I would suggest going down a size small and seeing how they fit. The shoes are the most gorgeous statement pieces but not that practical for frequent wear. They’re tricky to walk in and not that ergonomic. They are also really delicate so I would save them for special occasions. Also considering the bold logo, you cant wear them as often as any other basic black stilettos.
Nevertheless, they’re a beautiful pair and are a trophy in your shoe closet. I would treat them as cautiously as my Chanel classic flap for years to come.
