Haldi Mehendi

 Mehendi Haldi outfit

Hey Guys, I’m writing this post directly from my hotel room in Rome and I can’t tell you how wayworn I am right now. We’ve been traveling non stop since 10 days. Exploring Italy, walking all day long. But though we’re tired with aching feet and sore backs, it has been an experience of a lifetime. If you follow me on Instagram and Facebook then you must have seen the gorgeous pictures of this amazing country. Well, we still have one day ahead of us but I gotta pack tonight and I’m so tired right now. “Prashant, can you pack the bags while I make coffee.. ” 😉

Anyway, since I had been posting about what I wore for my wedding last year, I wanted to show you guys some pictures from Mehendi and Haldi ceremonies. For Mehendi, I picked the materials from Lajpat Nagar in Delhi and got them stitched from my local tailor. I opted for a pink and gold brocade top and yellow net skirt. I opted for this outfit so that the Henna wouldn’t stick to clothes and there would be ample of space to work upon :). I also love the combination of pink and yellow hence this color combo.

For Haldi, I wore a simple Rajathani suit with mirror work. I got this from Sarojni Nagar in Delhi. Though I loved this dress so much, I’m so sad that I cant wear it the second time, because in Hindu custom the bride is not supposed to wear her haldi clothes again. Well, marriage happens only once right. I can sacrifice a good dress for it, not a big deal (As long as hubby keeps gifting me ZARA  😉 ) Have a great Sunday everyone 🙂
