Prevent, Correct & Protect by Skinceuticals

 

I love investing in good skincare. Give me something that works and I’m gonna try it the moment I get my hands on it. I love using Retin-A on my slowly-getting-mature skin to prevent any signs of aging. Retin A is great but it is so strong that I can’t use it more than once a week. I wanted something for my daily skincare that is proven effective and is milder.

Recently I was invited to the Skinceuticals HQ where they explained all about how to achieve optimal skin health. Skinceuticals believe in advanced skincare backed by science. They’ve put years into researching skin science. They explained to me how skin can age by certain factors like sun exposure, pollution and stress. Using sunscreen alone doesn’t protect your skin from these factors. A topical antioxidant along with a daily sunscreen protects the skin against these damaging environmental aggressors.

I’ve been on Skinceuticals Prevent-Correct-Protect regimen since 2 weeks now. The other day I was taking a selfie after work and noticed that my skin looked glowing and shiny. Not the oily shiny but the shine you see on an exfoliated smooth skin. My skin definitely looked healthier than the previous days.

Below is my daily morning skincare routine.

1. Prevent

   

    

   

   After cleansing and toning, I love to follow with the antioxidant serum by Skinceuticals. The daytime serum C E FERULIC aims at protecting skin against sun damage, provides firmness and reduces any signs of ageing. It protects the skin against the damaging free radicals and thus prepares my skin to see the hot sun. I use 3 drops which gets absorbed pretty easily and smoothly. Pat the serum gently on the face. Never apply any kind of serum around the eye area! The best part about this serum is that once absorbed, it stays in your skin for 72 hours! So you can wash off your face or put on makeup, the serum is going at stay effective for 3 days after!

   

2. Correct

   

The next step in my skincare routine is applying the correcting serum named Retexturing Activator. This is a resurfacing serum which provides exfoliation and hydration to the skin. I use 4 drops on my face, neck and top of my hands. This serum feels so rich and smooth against the skin. My dry skin feels so hydrated after using it!  The retexturing serum works like Retin-A but in a milder way so yay for that 😀  Later I love to moisturize with Cetaphil because my skin is so dry. It sucks up any moisture provided without complaints :p

3. Protect

My morning skincare regimen never ends without a Sunscreen unless I’m planning to stay in bed all day. Ultra Facial Defense Sunscreen completes my routine protecting my skin from the harmful UV rays. This girl goes out in the sun everyday. Even in winters I gotta use Sunscreen because I use Retinol which makes my skin pretty sensitive towards the sun.

To sum it up, I am pretty happy with the way my skin looks now. I know that it is protected and I feel that it is healthier and glowing than before.
