This has to be one the most delayed posts ever. I went to Taj Mahal in India in the first week of Jan this year. Since then I’d been waiting for the right time to publish this post. I’m not sure what I was looking for but now it’s been too long and I couldn’t wait to share this special one. This post is special because it’s with my bff, my soulmate, my cute little sister ‘Pooja‘ . Tutu (dats wat we call her at home) has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. We share such a strong bond together. My childhood has been the best coz of her. We would share everything from clothes to deep lil secrets. Her first crush to mine falling for a south indian guy (my present husband π ) . She’s 5 years younger to me but is so mature that I’m addicted to bugging her for every lil decision in my life(well she does the same too π ). She has been such a big support system in my life and though I loved my best friends, she has always been my bestest friend ever! I can’t stay away from you girl. I miss you so much!
Till last year I was pretty embarrassed by the fact that I’ve seen wonders like Colosseum, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Eiffel Tower but not my own Taj Mahal, which is just 3 hours drive away from my place near Delhi. So, when I visited India earlier this year I was determined that I’m gonna check my own lil wonder off the list this time.
As expected, the beauty of this immense mausoleum of white marble did not fail to astonish. Taj glistened bright under the bright sun. The bright marble dazzles and shines from every corner. I would say I was a little disappointed by the scaffoldings around 2 pillars, but anything to keep this beautiful monument last longer works for me. This was one marvellous experience and I could only say two words the whole time ‘Waah Taj! ‘
Beautiful photos π It’s so nice to read what you’ve written about your sister. It makes me miss my sister (we live in different countries) Some of my best travel memories are from exploring London with her. I went to the Taj Mahal with my family when I was a kid and have been dreaming of returning ever since. Also whenever I go to see monuments there is scaffolding! Happened to me all through Italy π It’s so true though what you say, we often overlook the wonders in out own back yard. I’m Australian and I have yet to see Uluru, and only went to the Whitsundays this year!
